The overriding goal of the Land Group is to harmonize Development Partners’ voice and interventions in the land sector in collaboration with the Government. Specifically, the objectives of the Land Group are:

Coordination:

• Increase information-sharing amongst Development Partners (DPs), including current and pipeline projects;
• Improve aid effectiveness through more efficient and effective resource use and increase the alignment of activities. It is expected that this will reduce transaction costs for both the DPs and the GoU;

Relations to Government:

• Ensure a joined-up DP voice in dialogue with GoU on all policy and budgetary issues linked to the reform of the land sector, including promoting the integration of the NLP into the GoU’s planning and budgeting processes;
• Improve the alignment of DPs’ strategies and programmes with those of GoU to better support national objectives. DPs will seek to integrate project assistance with the NLP;
• Contribute to joint reviews, annual budgeting exercises, public expenditure reviews and NLP implementation reviews in partnership with the GoU as need be.
